Well, the season is half over. The All-Star break starts tomorrow for MLB. The big game is going to be in Yankee Stadium. But that’s not what’s important. What’s important is the status of our Cardinals. After blowing a six run lead twice last night to lose in extra innings the Cards recovered and whipped up on the Pirates today.
But even more important than that, yet another shocker from this seasons team, at the break, Albert Pujols is not the team home run leader. But he was running behind in the past as I mentioned before. The real shock is that he isn’t even is second place. Ryan Ludwick is leading the team again heading into his first All-Star game with 21 homers on the season. Trailing him by one, with 20 is Rick Ankiel. Pujols comes dragging in third with 18.
Crazy.
Well, my congrats go out to Ludwick on his All-Star pick. Let’s hope he keeps up the pace in the second half.
