Bibles in Schools in the News Again

This time, a teacher at an Ohio Middle School is facing disciplinary action because he won’t take a bible off his desk in his classroom.

I would absolutely stand behind him in that civil disobedience. He already took down a collage that included the Ten Commandments that was hanging on his wall. I understand that, any kid can see it from their desk. In our current retarded society that’s just not ok. Don’t misunderstand me. I don’t agree with that law, but I understand that it is the law and we have to obey it.

But a Bible on his desk? No way. No kid is forced in any way to see that. I had several teachers in high school whose desks I never got near. And I was a teachers pet for the most part.

The company I work for is a big corporation that has both government and commercial contracts we work. We have all kinds of ethics rules that others don’t. We have all kinds of retarded openness stuff that others don’t either. Heck, in our supposedly “un-biased” company news letter, they celebrate gay pride month. They get letters every time that it is inappropriate given the purpose of the newsletter but they do it anyway.

But never, not once, in all my time here, has anyone tried to tell me to remove the Bible from my desk. It has been there since just about day one.

And if someone did try to get me to remove it, you can bet that it would still be there tomorrow.
